In essence, a month-long festival of fantastic football and approximately 400 000 international
visitors between 11 June and 11 July 2010 are expected.
Ten venues are being built and upgraded
to ensure world-class stadiums in the nine different host cities. The six areas competing in the
event include: the European; African; South American; Asian; Oceanian; the North, Central American
and Caribbean zones. Out of the original 204 international teams, only 31 qualifying teams will
make it to the shores of our rainbow nation to join the South African National team, the 32nd team.
These exciting play-offs have already started and the final results will be available by December
2009.
The Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has allocated a number of match
tickets to their tour operator programme. This programme allows accredited tour operators access
to tickets which together with accommodation, transportation and other related tourism services
to be sold in packages of their own creation. TIO has applied for the FIFA tour operator program
accreditation and the success of our application will only be known after July 2008.
Tourvest Inbound Operations has been actively implementing our strategy since mid 2004, and
we were the first South African Operator to secure over 150 vehicles and luxury coaches and
more than 20 000 rooms country wide on risk so are therefore well placed to assist our clients
with their needs. Through stringent tender processes, TIO has already been awarded the accounts
for The Coca Cola Company Global; The Coca-Cola Company South Africa; First National Bank
and will collectively handle over 20 000 pax on their behalf.
Please contact our TIO Team 2010 for more information and your specific requirements.
